How to Set Up a Google Business Profile
For eligible local and service-area businesses, Google Business Profile can be an important part of establishing a local online presence.
Google says Business Profiles can help eligible businesses manage how they appear on Google Search and Maps, including information such as hours, website, phone number, location or service area, photos and reviews.
Claim or Create Your Profile
Start by searching Google for your business.
If a profile already exists, you may need to claim it.
If one doesn't exist, you can create one through Google's Business Profile process.
Complete Your Profile
Make sure your profile accurately represents your business.
Consider including:
- Correct business name
- Primary category
- Phone number
- Website
- Hours
- Service area
- Business description
- Photos
- Services
- Products where applicable
Keep It Updated
Don't create your profile and forget about it.
Continue adding appropriate photos, updating information and responding to customer reviews.
Google also allows eligible businesses to publish posts containing updates, events, offers and other information.
Important Eligibility Note
Google Business Profile isn't intended for every type of business. Google says businesses generally need to interact with customers in person at a location or through a service area.
BOSSORAMA Tip: Your Google presence should match your website and other business listings as closely as possible.
